Apple Tarte Tatin

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Defrost shortcrust pastry in room temperature until it is soft enough. Peel, quarter and core the apples.

Step 2
In a saucepan, add in butter, apple quarters and sugar. Stir well and cook until the apple is soft, for about 20 min in medium high heat.

Step 3
Place the apple wedges inside the baking tin tidily. Pour the caramel sauce as well. Pre heat oven to 200 °C. Bake for 20min.

Step 4
Place shortcrust pastry on top of apple quarters. Prick a few holes to allow steam to escape. Bake for extra 30 min.

Step 5
Allow to cool to room temperature before removing it from the tin. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
