Stir-fried Beef with Korean Rice Cake

Korean rice cakes go well with beef. You can get the dish ready by using the convenient hot topokki sauce.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Julienne the onion. Slice the button mushrooms and carrot. Cut the green onion into sections. Mince the garlic and set aside.

Step 2
Soak the rice cakes in hot water for 2 minutes until soft and separate the rice cakes.

Step 3
Marinate the beef with light soy sauce, sugar, rice wine and sesame oil for 15 minutes.

Step 4
In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add beef and stir-fry until 80% cooked. Transfer to a plate.

Step 5
In the same pan, add some oil. Add garlic, onion, carrot and sauté until fragrant.

Step 6
Add button mushroom and quick stir. Add Korean rice cakes, hot topokki sauce, water and bring to boil. Reduce to medium low heat and cook for 8-10 minutes.

Step 7
Add beef, green onion and mix well. Ready to serve.
