Winter melon is a perfect ingredient to relieve summer heat. The winter melon absorbs the sauce when braising it with fish belly and Chinese celery!

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Peel and cut the winter melon into pieces. Clean, pat the grass carp belly dry and cut into pieces. Cut the Chinese celery into sections. Mince the garlic.

Step 2
Marinate the grass carp belly with salt and ground white pepper for 15 minutes. Coat with corn starch.

Step 3
In a pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add grass carp belly and sear until fragrant. Transfer to a plate.

Step 4
In another pan, add some oil on medium heat. Add ginger, garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add grass carp belly and Chinese cooking wine. Add chicken broth and bring to boil.

Step 5
Add winter melon, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce and mix well. Cover the lid and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 6
Add Chinese celery and mix well. Ready to serve.
